Scope and Content: Material in this subseries relates to the setting up of all-Irish language schools (primary and post primary) and overlaps with both G60/30/7 and G60/30/8. The first file (G60/30/12/1) includes lists of schools; standardised tests; general information relating to Irish-medium schooling and correspondence, cuttings and press releases including with and in relation to the Minister for Education, Niamh Breathnach. The second file (G60/30/12/2) contains material relating to the call for the setting up of a Gaeltacht / All Irish-medium Education board, and includes correspondence, flyers, cuttings and reports. It also includes material relating to "An Comhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta & Gaelscolaíochta" [Council for Gaeltacht & Irish - Medium Education].
