Scope and Content: This subseries consists of material relating to Údarás na Gaeltachta [The Gaeltacht Authority] and its predecessor Gaeltarra Éireann, an Irish state industrial development agency set up in 1957 specifically for the Gaeltacht areas. The first three files relate to Gaeltarra Éireann and include correspondence, press releases, reports and press cuttings. The remaining eight files are sorted chronologically, relate to Údarás na Gaeltachta and include correspondence, press releases, reports, annual accounts, press cuttings and material relating to the Údarás na Gaeltachta Bill 1999 and to the 1994 Gaeltacht authority elections.
